The Wharton Club of Japan and INSEAD Alumni Association Japan are pleased to invite you to a special evening with Mike Collins, CEO of Alumni Ventures, one of the world’s top-20 venture capital firms and among the most active VC investors globally.
As AI-driven technological change accelerates and capital markets continue to evolve, founders, executives, and investors are confronting fundamental questions about how companies are built, how work is organized, and where durable competitive advantage will emerge. Alumni Ventures stands at the center of these shifts, with $1.6B+ total capital raised and investments in more than 1,800 companies worldwide. Among Alumni Ventures’ notable recent investments are Groq—an AI inference semiconductor company highlighted by a strategic $20 billion transaction with NVIDIA—and Oura, the global leader in wearable health technology best known for the Oura Ring.
Drawing on decades of experience as an entrepreneur, investor, and CEO, Mike Collins will share his perspectives on:
· How Alumni Ventures approaches investment decision-making
· Global AI and technology trends and their implications for capital markets
· The rationale behind opening a Tokyo office and expectations for the Japanese market
· What will matter most in the future of work and company building
He will also discuss Alumni Ventures’ expanding presence in Japan, including the Kizuna Club, a Japan-based business leader community.
