Young alumni hosted Wharton MBA alumni-led information session on August 4th. Over 100 people joined our session.

The session started with an opening remark by Mr. Hiroshi Minoura, Chairman of Wharton Club of Japan, who talked about the strong tie in Wharton alumni community.

Then, Madoka Shimanuki(WG18) explained the detail of Wharton MBA curriculum and  Wharton's strengths, including young alumni's hands-on experiences.

After that, Masato Yoshimoto (WG18) facilitated an interview session with Mr. Kotaro Ueda (WG03), Director of Benesse Corporation, and Mr. Yo Nagami (WG11), CFO of RakSul Inc. They shared their decision making in career choice and takeaways from Wharton with their vivid experiences.

Then, Hajime Honda (WG18) moderated a panel discussion with four recent alumni with diverse background. Panelists shared their own Why Wharton and Wharton life, including their favorite classes and social activities.

After the panel discussion, many participants had time to frankly chat with and ask questions to alumni.
At the same time, in the next meeting room, we also organized a small information session for those who are not familiar with MBA itself. Around 30 people joined this session and alumni shared their experiences on MBA application process, financing issues for non-sponsored students, and a family life with their partner and children in Philadelphia.

Overall, we received positive feedback from participants and one of the participants told that they are surprised at Wharton’s strong network and strongly attracted by Wharton.

We appreciate all the efforts made by many Wharton alumni who volunteered for this event!
